Course Overview
Learn how to set square and rectangular stones precisely.

Making mounts for and setting rectangle or squares stones brings a series of technical challenges to consider. These settings are reminiscent of the Art Deco style which you can use for ring designs or combine to create elegant pendants.
On this course you will learn how to set square and rectangular stones precisely ensuring crisp edges and a professional finish. To achieve this the course is divided into two projects starting out simple and becoming progressively more challenging.
Starting with the simplest type of stone setting students will be guided through the process of making a mount and setting for a square cabochon stone.
The second project will be for faceted square or rectangular stones. We will cover different ways to set faceted stones with 90° corners.
All our advanced courses are designed to further develop student skills. This course is for experienced makers only with an intermediate to advanced level of competence. If you are new to Kingham Jewellery School please contact us to make sure this course is suitable.
